Program Overview
Athlete Focused, Coach Lead, Performance Driven
The DC High Performance Group's mission is to develop world class athletes as they pursue National Team berths for their respective country, whether through Trials or a Selection Camp. The the co-ed program is focused on development in small boats (1x, 2x, 2-) for both openweight and lightweight athletes. Athletes will compete at priority regattas such as Trials, Selection Regattas, and Speed Orders.
Training Overview
Athletes train on the Potomac River, which boasts 20k+ of water. There is additional access to a full 2k course for testing.
Training
12 sessions per week
Combination of on the water, erg, cross train, and strength training sessions.
Training around 9-5 jobs.
Training based on best practices.

Daily coaching
Multi-time National Team (U23 and Senior) experienced coach, including Olympic boat classes.
Standards
The DC HPG is focused on building athletes from a pre-elite to elite level. Performance standards for senior athletes ensure that they are at an appropriate baseline of fitness.

If you are slightly outside of these standards, please inquire. Exceptions have been made. U23 and Junior athletes inquire for more information.

Judith Vogel brings 15+ years of coaching experience including 6 years of coaching at World Championships, World Cups, and U23 World Championships. Her coaching philosophy centers around developing the whole person, building ownership and independence in athletes, and fostering enjoyment of the process.
